Child and Youth Residential

Specialized Residential Care for Children and Youth

While it is RMACL’s strong belief that children and youth should be supported in a family home, there are some children and youth who may require a staffed model of support due to exceptional health or behavioral needs. Homes are staffed on a 24 hour basis and children and youth are supported in every aspect of their lives as required. Extra emphasis is placed on working with families, community professionals and the children themselves to ensure a fulfilling home and community life.

RMACL is on the approved service providers list for Specialized Residential Resources with the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Referrals for this program are made through the Ministry of Children and Family Development and children must be eligible for the Ministry’s Child and Youth with Special Needs designation.

Foster Families

RMACL is able to provide foster family homes to children and youth with special needs who may be temporarily unable to live with their biological or adoptive families. RMACL foster families support children and youth until they are able to return to their family home or a permanent adoptive family is located. Referrals come from the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
